The future of mental health and recovery is movement

More Than Just A Workout
FitMind is a behavioral health agency revolutionizing the traditional treatment model by making movement central to mental health healing and substance use recovery. We reject the typical “sit in group for three hours” approach, believing instead that the future of mental health and recovery lies in active, dynamic engagement.
Through movement, we learn to bend without breaking, to flow around obstacles, and to adapt with grace to life’s unpredictability. It reminds us that we are not static beings but dynamic forces, capable of transformation and growth. In every step, stretch, or breath, movement connects us to something greater, grounding us in the present while propelling us forward into possibility. It is through this embrace of movement that we align ourselves with the natural rhythms of life and unlock the strength to navigate its challenges.
We recognize and honor the part of you that has not given up on the life you deserve, and we meet that hope with unwavering commitment, innovative care, and a belief in the transformative power of movement to heal and restore.

Shifting your Mind Set - A Core Value
At FitMind, we believe that true transformation begins with a shift in mindset.
This shift starts by redefining your identity—not as someone bound by addiction or destructive behaviors, but as someone committed to health, growth, and possibility. It’s about moving away from patterns that no longer serve you and embracing a mindset rooted in strength, self-respect, and purpose.
Embracing recovery means aligning our actions with our core values, and this journey begins by recognizing and exercising the strengths and resilience you acquired through life’s challenges. Every individual carries within them the spirit of an athlete and the heart of a warrior—measured by their mental stamina, grit, and commitment to push through challenges and strive for growth. When we view ourselves as athletes in training or warriors on a journey, recovery becomes more than a destination—it becomes a way of living and our daily inspiration. We embody a new version of ourselves.
At FitMind, we help you harness the power of your body as a tool in this journey, transforming it into a source of strength, resilience, and support for your healing. Movement is the foundation for building emotional regulation, reducing stress, and creating lasting change.

Trauma-Informed Care
Our approach to active treatment is trauma-informed, with an understanding that past experiences shape both mental and physical health. Guided by Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, we recognize that early adverse experiences influence brain development, emotional regulation, and stress responses. These responses often originate as adaptive behaviors—ways the brain and body learn to survive and navigate adversity. However, over time, these once-helpful adaptations can become obsolete or maladaptive, interfering with daily life, relationships, and well-being. Through intentional and supportive care, these patterns can be reconfigured, and the maladaptive behaviors may be replaced with healthier, more positive ones that align with personal growth and resilience.

Partnering For You
PARTNERING FOR YOUR WELL-BEING
We prioritize our clients' safety and require them to obtain a physical exam before participating in physical activity. To support this, we partner with clinics that provide physical exams and assistance in establishing a Primary Care Physician for clients who do not already have access to these services. While we facilitate access to these resources, the decision on where to obtain medical clearance remains with the client.
NUTRITION FOR TOTAL WELLNESS
Clients who visit our partner clinics not only receive support for their health and wellness but also benefit from a free nutritional assessment and plan. At FitMind, we believe nutrition is essential to overall health and a cornerstone of building healthy habits and a positive mindset. This personalized guidance addresses each client’s unique needs, complementing their fitness journey and promoting a full-body transformation. By integrating health support, nutrition, and physical activity, we empower clients to embrace a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.

FitMind’s Active Recovery Workout is a unique, 12-week program that uses fitness as a pathway to healing, pairing physical strength-building with deep mental recovery work. Each session is designed to foster resilience and self-awareness through a balance of dynamic strength exercises, core conditioning, and carefully structured cardio. This holistic approach recognizes that physical movement can be a powerful tool for processing and releasing stress. At the start of each session, participants engage in check-ins and affirmations to set the tone, focusing on both personal goals and shared support. Clients are encouraged to explore their physical limits safely, building both mental stamina and emotional regulation. Over the course of the program, this balanced approach nurtures body and mind, helping individuals in recovery reconnect with themselves, gain strength, and develop tools for lasting wellness.
Our mental health-focused workout is inspired by Dr. Bruce Perry's research on rhythm and movement as powerful tools in trauma recovery. Dr. Perry’s work shows that rhythmic, repetitive movement—such as exercises involving controlled breathing, stretching, or steady cardio—can help re-regulate the brain's stress response, promoting emotional balance and healing. In this workout, clients engage in guided activities that connect movement and rhythm, helping to calm the nervous system and reduce stress. By tapping into the body’s natural rhythms, these exercises support healing from trauma, aiding in emotional regulation, resilience, and self-connection. This unique approach not only boosts physical fitness but also offers a pathway to mental clarity, supporting clients in rebuilding a grounded, resilient sense of self.
Our mental health-focused workout is grounded in trauma recovery principles informed by Dr. Bruce Perry's NMT™. This approach recognizes the healing power of rhythmic, repetitive movement to help re-regulate the brain's stress response and promote emotional balance. Open sessions allow participation as needed, providing flexible support for healing, mental clarity, and a stronger sense of self. Our Peer Services Fitness Recovery Skills Group provides a supportive, community-focused fitness experience that complements formal recovery programs and peer support services. This program is designed for individuals in sober living environments or those actively engaged in peer support services, offering a structured but relaxed setting to reinforce recovery skills through movement. Sessions blend low-intensity group workouts with interactive exercises focused on goal setting, accountability, and healthy lifestyle habits, fostering both physical wellness and a sense of community. The group emphasizes encouragement and shared motivation, where participants support each other’s progress in a safe, non-judgmental space. This skills group helps participants build resilience, establish routine, and reinforce their commitment to wellness in an uplifting and positive environment.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program for Veterans is designed to address the multifaceted mental health and adjustment challenges faced by this population. The program covers essential topics such as assimilation into civilian life, identity, grief and belongingness, conflict resolution, life skills, transferring military skills to new professions, building healthier relationships, understanding trauma, managing substance use, and the role of nutrition in overall well-being. By helping veterans build tools to manage emotional regulation, hypervigilance, and stress, while addressing social isolation and adjustment difficulties, this holistic approach empowers them to foster healing, build resilience, and reconnect with purpose in their civilian lives.
